I used to ask myself: “Do matcha cakes even exist in Nigeria?” Matcha desserts always felt like something you’d only find abroad or on Instagram food pages. That was until I discovered Korean Town (K-Pop Supermarket) in Osapa London.

One day while scrolling online, I saw they had matcha cakes available right here in Lagos. I couldn’t believe it until I tried it myself.

The taste? Rich, earthy, and slightly sweet, everything you expect from matcha, but in a soft, fluffy cake. Honestly, I didn’t think I’d be able to enjoy matcha cake without traveling out of the country, but Korean Town made it possible.
