Whenever people talk about Korean food, they usually mention kimchi, ramen, or soju. But one thing I’ve come to love about Korean Town (K-Pop Supermarket) is the sweet side of their shelves. The cakes, breads, and biscuits there are just as exciting as the spicy noodles.
The first sweet I tried was the matcha cake. It was soft, fluffy, and had that earthy green tea flavour that makes it taste sophisticated and unique. Then came the milk cakes, light and creamy, and the strawberry Swiss roll bread, which has quickly become one of my favourites. It’s the kind of snack that makes you feel like you’re in a bakery in Seoul, not Lagos.
When I want something simple but satisfying, I grab their biscuits and cookies. And of course, there are the fun Oreo variations, like intense chocolate or strawberry-flavoured Oreos, which make a regular snack feel brand new.
Korean Town has turned my snacking into an adventure. Every time I visit, I end up discovering a new sweet treat. So if you’ve got a sweet tooth and you’ve been searching for Korean cakes or biscuits in Lagos, Korean Town is where you’ll find them.
